What aluminum picket railing is, and when it fits
An aluminum picket railing is a powder-coated aluminum frame with vertical pickets spaced so a 4in sphere cannot pass between them — the opening BC code allows on a guard. The frame carries the load; the finish is baked on, not painted, so it does not peel, chalk, or need repainting.
It is the right system for most decks, balconies, and porches where you want a clean, low-maintenance guard that lasts. On oceanfront and exposed sites, aluminum outlasts steel and wood because it does not rust and the powder coat resists salt. Pickets keep sightlines open without the cost and cleaning of glass.

Do aluminum railings rust near the ocean?
