FAQ
Twelve questions.
Trade accounts, stock, the estimator, shipping, returns. The questions sales hears most, with the plain answers.
Trade & account
Do you sell to homeowners?
No. Norcut is trade-only — contractors, developers, installers, and multi-unit builders. If you run jobs and need a bulk channel, apply for an account at Account · Apply.
How do I open a trade account?
Submit a trade-account application with your company name, trade credentials, and the type of work you do. Sales reviews each application individually. Approved accounts unlock list pricing, volume tier visibility, and Net 30 eligibility. Start at Account · Apply.
What are your payment terms?
Net 30 on approved trade accounts. New accounts run on prepay or credit card until terms are extended. All pricing is CAD, pre-GST. See Trade terms for the full schedule.
Do you offer volume pricing?
Yes. 15% off orders over $25,000 CAD pre-GST. 30% off orders over $60,000 CAD pre-GST. Discounts apply to the full kit subtotal — no exclusions. Per-part pricing remains private. Detail on Trade terms.
Products & stock
Why are Picket and Glass out of stock?
Supplier turnover. There is no committed restock date at this time. The line pages have a Notify-when-in-stock capture — leave your account email plus a Contractor / Developer / Installer qualifier and you go on the list. Cable Series 3 is in stock and ships in 14 days from BC.
Can I mix lines in one job?
Yes. The estimator supports a Detail mode where each run gets its own line, height, mount, and finish. The kit consolidates posts, brackets, and sleeves across runs — the same hardware carries every line, so the shared parts count once.
Do you supply glass panels?
No. Norcut supplies the aluminum frame, post, rail, and bracket kit for Glass Series 2. Customers source their own tempered glass (5–10mm) to fit the bay widths shipped. The frame is dimensioned to common BC supply.
What heights do you offer?
42in (1070mm) only. The height meets the 1070mm minimum guard height in NBC 2020 §3.4.6 for Part 3 occupancies and exceeds the 900mm minimum in §9.8.8 for single-dwelling-unit applications. Custom heights are not offered.
Estimator & quote
Is the estimator price the final price?
No. The estimator output is labeled Estimate · not a quote for a reason — final pricing comes from sales review of the project, the freight, and any line items the estimator does not capture. Submit the estimate as a quote request and sales confirms within one business day.
How long is a quote good for?
[TBD: 30 days standard from quote-issue date.]
Shipping & returns
How long is lead time?
Cable Series 3 ships in 14 days from BC. Fittings ship in 5 days. Picket Series 1 and Glass Series 2 are pending restock — no committed lead time until supplier inventory returns. See Shipping for transit times by region.
Can I return unused parts?
No. Leftover material from an installed kit is not returnable. Whole unopened orders may be returned with a 20% restocking fee; customer pays return freight. Cut-to-length cable, custom finishes, and opened Glass Series 2 frame kits are non-returnable under any condition. See Returns for the full policy, the RA process, and the wrong-ship and freight-damage exceptions.
