Warranty

What we cover.

Limited warranty on the aluminum frame, the powder-coat finish, the 316 stainless cable, and the stainless fasteners. Customer-sourced glass is excluded. Installation and abuse are excluded.

Structural — 5 years

Norcut warranties the aluminum extrusion (rail, post, sleeve, bracket), the 316 stainless steel cable supplied with Cable Series 3, and the 316 stainless fasteners supplied with the kit against manufacturing defect in material and workmanship for 5 years from the date of shipment. Coverage applies to the original purchasing trade account and is not transferable on resale. Code compliance of the as-built guard — loads, height, and infill openings under NBC 2020 §3.4.6 / §9.8.8 — is the responsibility of the engineer of record on each project and is not warranted by Norcut.

Appearance — 1 year

Norcut warranties the powder-coat film — Smooth Onyx Black and Polished Graphite Grey — against peeling, flaking, blistering, and chalking for 1 year from shipment date, when installed and maintained per the published care guide. Coverage is for adhesion and film integrity only. Normal weathering, gradual color shift, gloss reduction, surface scratches, impact damage, and surface oxidation (including tea-staining on stainless) are not finish defects and are not covered.

Glass

Glass panels are not covered under any Norcut warranty. Norcut does not supply tempered glass for Glass Series 2; customer-sourced panels are warrantied by the supplying glazier. Norcut covers the aluminum frame, post, bracket, and finish that ships with the kit.

Exclusions

The warranty does not cover: installation deviating from the published installation guide; modification of any component (drilling, welding, cutting beyond intended cut points); unauthorized alteration of the finish; impact damage, abrasion, or other mechanical abuse; damage from fire, flood, seismic events, or other acts of nature; damage from construction work performed adjacent to installed product (concrete, mortar, acid wash, abrasive blasting); cleaning with abrasive compounds, solvents, or acidic cleaners; aesthetic variation within the published finish tolerance; consequential or incidental damages of any kind.

How to claim

Email accounts@norcut.ca within 30 days of discovering the condition with the original order number, the installation date, photographs of the affected components, and a written description. Norcut reviews each claim individually and confirms receipt within two business days.

Remedy

Approved claims are resolved by repair, replacement of the affected component, or a credit toward replacement at Norcut's discretion. The customer is responsible for return freight on defective parts submitted for inspection and for outbound freight on the replacement. Return of the defective part may be required before a replacement ships.

Limit of liability

Norcut's total liability under this warranty is capped at the invoice value of the defective component, less any volume-tier discount applied at the time of order. Consequential, incidental, and indirect damages are excluded. This clause is subject to the Limitation of Liability section of the Trade Terms; where the two conflict, the Trade Terms govern.

This is a summary of warranty terms. Full warranty language ships with each order acknowledgment and supersedes this page in the event of a conflict.
